A space becomes beautiful only when it feels like it belongs to the person living in it. Not Pinterest. Not trends. You.

One thing I’ve learned through my own journey in design is this:
A space becomes beautiful only when it feels like it belongs to the person living in it.
Not Pinterest. Not trends. You.

People often ask me,
“Rachel, how do I know which interior style is right for me?”
And honestly, I love that question — because design isn’t just about choosing a look, it’s about choosing a lifestyle.

So before I talk about styles, let me share this first:
I don’t believe in forcing people into a label — I believe in finding what feels natural to them.

The 12 Interior Styles I Usually Work With

  1. Modern Interior

  2. Contemporary Interior

  3. Minimalist Interior

  4. Scandinavian Interior

  5. Industrial Interior

  6. Bohemian Interior

  7. Traditional Interior

  8. Transitional Interior

  9. Mid-Century Modern Interior

  10. Coastal Interior

  11. Eclectic Interior

  12. Rustic Interior

These are the names, but the truth is — most real homes are a blend.
What matters is what you connect with, not what the style is called.

How I Help Clients Discover Their Style

When I work with someone, I don’t start by showing them furniture or color palettes.
I start with questions like:

- What kind of spaces make you feel calm and safe?
- Do you like simplicity, or do you like pieces with history and character?
- Are you drawn to light colors and airiness, or warm tones and texture?
- Do you want a space that makes you feel energized or grounded?

Because here’s something I truly believe:
Your home should feel like a reflection of your inner world, not a showroom.

A Quick Way to Sense Your Style

If you love clean lines and don’t like visual clutter → you’ll probably enjoy Minimalist or Modern Interiors.

If you feel happiest around natural elements, wood, and soft tones → Scandinavian or Rustic might feel right.

If you’re a collector, a traveler, or someone who loves personality in every corner → Bohemian or Eclectic is probably where you belong.

If you love timeless elegance, symmetry, and depth → you may lean toward Traditional or Transitional.

If you want a lived-in but polished look → Mid-Century Modern might speak to you.

And if your dream home feels like sunshine, sea breeze, and calm mornings → Coastal Interiors are your energy.

What I Want You to Know

You don’t have to “pick the perfect style” before designing.
You just have to know how you want to feel in your space — the rest can be built around that.

Design is not about impressing the world.
It’s about coming home to yourself.
